The village of CHRYSTON is in the North Lanarkshire area of central Scotland.
It lies to the north of the main A80 trunk road, midway between Glasgow and Cumbernauld and the Chryston area includes Crowwood, Muirhead, Mount Ellen and Moodiesburn.
It is in the commutor belt for Glasgow and nearby towns of Kirkintilloch, Cumbernauld and Coatbridge, but can still be described as 'in the country' although with shrinking greenbelt, who knows what the future will bring.
Neighbouring villages are Stepps to the west, Lenzie to the north, Gartcosh to the south and Mollinsburn to the east.
