 DIGITAL TV SWITCH-OVER
Inveraray receives its Analog TV signal from the Strachur Transmitter
receiving only BBC1, BBC2, STV and CHANNEL 4.
After digital switch-over it will receive 22 channels +radio
WHEN IS THE SWITCH-OVER TO FREEVIEW DIGITAL?
The switch-over to Digital Freeview at Strachur will take place between Wed 8th & Wed 22nd June 2011, you will then receive lots more channels.
It will supply what has been called FREEVIEW LITE. Ofcom only plans to put half of the Freeview service on this transmitter.
So, there will be no Sky News, Sky Sports News, Sky Three, UKTV History, Dave, The Hits, Virgin 1 or Film4. No five Life, five US or ITV2+1 or E4+1.
SUMMARY
The Digital Switch-Over will be in 2 phases:
Phase 1 - 8th June 2011 - Main DIGITAL FREEVIEW Channels will be switched ON
Phase 2 - 22nd June 2011 - Existing ANALOG Channels will be switched OFF and remainder of FREEVIEW DIGITAL channels will be switched ON.
