Inveraray receives its Analog TV signal from the Strachur Transmitter
receiving only BBC1, BBC2, STV and CHANNEL 4.
After digital switch-over it will receive 22 channels +radio

WHEN IS THE SWITCH-OVER TO FREEVIEW DIGITAL

The switch-over to Digital Freeview at Strachur will take place on Tuesday 1st March 2011 and you will then receive lots more channels.

It will supply what has been called FREEVIEW LITE. Ofcom only plans to put half of the Freeview service on this transmitter.
So, there will be no Sky News, Sky Sports News, Sky Three, UKTV History, Dave, The Hits, Virgin 1 or Film4. No five Life, five US or ITV2+1 or E4+1.

SUMMARY

The Digital Switch-Over will be in 2 phases:

Phase 1 - 1st March 2011
Main DIGITAL FREEVIEW Channels will be switched ON

Phase 2 - 30th March 2011
Existing ANALOG Channels will be switched OFF
Remainder of available FREEVIEW DIGITAL channels will be switched ON.

Digital Freeview Switch-ON for BBC ONE Scotland, BBC TWO, BBC THREE, CBBC, BBC NEWS 24, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio nan Gaidheal.

Phase 2 - 30th March 2011
Existing Analogue Switch-OFF for BBC ONE Scotland, BBC TWO, STV, C4.
New Digital Freeview Switch-ON for BBC FOUR, CBeebies, BBC Parliament, FIVE, BBCi, BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, 2, 3, 4, 5 Live, 5 Live Sports Extra, 6 Music, 7 and Asian Network, ITV-1, STV, ITV-2, ITV-3, ITV-4, CITV, Heart Radio, Radio Music Shop, C4, E4, More 4, Channel 4+1.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED AFTER SWITCH-OVER

A FREEVIEW set-top box (available for about £20)
Your existing Group-A aerial should provide all digital TV services.
