People you don't know say hello and good morning to you. Don't get that in the Glasgow area. Would like some info from locals what it is like living here good and bad points please.

Hi Alfie1,

Well as I have a caravan here too, I probably am not the person you want to talk to, still an 'incomer' (a person who comes to live in a place in which he was not born'.

However as I have been here for the last 34 years at weekends and last year almost full time now that I am retired, I can tell you that it is a great place to live.

The weather is normally pretty reasonable, except 2009, wet summer and extremely cold start to winter, but that's not really normal.

Very friendly place and if you do get involved in the local community and it's activities and there are a lot of things to do, depending on your age of course. Tomorrow is another day seems to be the speed of things here, which is great.

As far as the web site is concerned, I am quite happy with the figures with around 6000 people looking at the web cams each month and over 5000 to this message board and a total last month of 334,373 hits. Not a lot of people leave messages but the site is well used from around the world.
When I first launched it in 1999 there was nothing on the web about Inveraray and just as you feel, I had to let other people know what the Town and Royal Burgh of Inveraray was really like. I am working on a web site makeover at the moment, so watch this space.

Hi Alfie,
I have been coming to Argyll for 30+ years, and also owned a house in the area. If you become a resident in the area you will jokingly be known as a "Rennies" a White Settler.
