The Story of SteppsCommunity Organisations
The Bridge Club was established under the Presidency of Mr Matthew Brown in 1972, with an initial membership of 40. At first the members met in the Bowling Green Clubhouse on Thursday evenings during winter; from 1978 a further opportunity to meet was provided on Wednesday afternoons at the same venue. The following year Summer Bridge was introduced in the Church Hall, so providing continuity throughout the year - a pattern which is still followed. The present membership is 40. The club team is currently in the 6th Division of the Glasgow & District Bridge Union.
